Context — The surrounding verses, chapter, book, and historical setting that help explain the meaning.
Exegesis — Drawing the meaning out of the text.
Eisegesis — Reading our own ideas into the text.
Application — How God’s truth should shape our heart, thoughts, words, and actions.
